Ballet Classes

Intermediate/ Advanced Ballet | Monday - Friday 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Intermediate/ Advanced Ballet weaves ballet’s dynamic architecture into barre and centre to support each dancer’s goals and aspirations. While class structure is traditional it is also interwoven with special themes and challenges that encourage each dancer to drive their own progress. Neuromuscular integration, musical phrasing, dynamic counterforces, focal variability, and most of all joy!


Pointe | Tuesday and Thursdays 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Pointe class begins with barre work that integrates the axis from head to toe, literally. Special attention is given to the connection of feet to core as we explore the challenges of larger movements. Center work includes academic basics plus larger movements that teach us how to harness momentum, and enjoy dynamic excitement. Dancing on pointe is where power meets freedom!!!


Drop-ins welcome. Ballet classes available simultaneously in studio and on Zoom

Adult Ballet Classes

Adult Pre Ballet | Wednesdays 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Adult Pre Ballet prepares students for healthy, joyful experiences of ballet for adults of all abilities. Special exercises activate muscles that support the core, spine and shoulder girdle. Detailed exploration of hips, knees and feet create empowered access to ballet’s traditional “turn out”. All adults are encouraged to guide their movement practices by how their body FEELS and RESPONDS, moment by moment, rather than forcing it into idealized positions.

This class is created for (1.) Adults who never danced before, but are curious! (2.) Adults who love to dance, but haven’t done it in ages! (3.) Adult dance lovers who have recovered from injury and need a no-pressure environment to get back into moving.


Adult Beginning Ballet | Mondays 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Adult Beginning Ballet follows traditional sequencing of basic barre exercises….but…. before traditional practice begins there are several non-traditional exercises to optimize alignment, define personal capacities to turn-out, and fire-up neuromuscular integration. While the majority of the beginning-level class is at barre, there is always center work with a chosen focus. Perhaps pirouette? Perhaps little jumps? Perhaps port de bras? Perhaps an adventurous combination? The class is structured to respect and develop each dancer’s capacities.


Drop-ins welcome. Ballet classes available simultaneously in studio and on Zoom.

Coaching / Repetoire

Coaching of classical and/ or contemporary repertoire - by appointment

Great choreographic works set a frame for our study of the technical and stylistic dimensions of dance. Coaching sessions prepare dancers for auditions, competitions, performances, and video-shoots. Attention to detail generates strategies that support the talents, gifts, and intrinsic power of each dancer.

Wu-Style TaiChi Chuan

Wu-Style TaiChi Chuan | Wednesdays 11:00 AM -1:00 PM

Wu-style TaiChi Chuan is a traditional Chinese martial art and movement practice, known for its emphasis on balance, internal energy and health benefits. Regular practice improves balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Classes are taught by Lily Kang. www.sandiegowustyle.com

Private Lessons - by appointment

Private lessons are one-on-one sessions designed to explore individual dance questions, and technical problems. Students’ questions may arise from material in general class, a problem with an old injury, a search for a new way to do an old step, or…..?.... Student curiosities and aspirations set the goals.

Feldenkrais® Movement Education

Feldenkrais® Movement Education (FI by appointment, ATM see schedule)

ATMs Thursdays 6:00 PM -7:00 PM

The Feldenkrais Method® of movement education stands alone as a gentle, yet rigorous means to improve movement and self-limiting postural habits. Gg is here to provide individual hands-on sessions called Functional Integration® as well as Awareness through Movement® group classes.

Functional Integration (FI)® Individual appointments with Gg will help you learn new patterns of coordination while reducing muscular tension and pain, improved balance, power, flexibility, and calm. During a session, the student lies comfortably on a table, fully clothed, while the practitioner uses his or her hands to show them new options in movement of which they may be unaware.

Awareness through Movement (ATM)® classes Students are verbally guided through movement sequences in order to gain awareness and refine the ‘how’ of basic functional movements such as reaching, sitting, bending, and walking. Founded on principles of biophysics and neuroplasticity, it is safe and helpful for people of all abilities.
